This week our focus is on brainstorming and reinventing. Each of the following inventions takes an ordinary object such as a cooler and cup, and redesigns them. The inventors do not do this through decoration; instead, they reinvent the function and design. They use their ingenuity to rethink how best to change these objects to make people think differently about their use.

The KANGAROO CUP was designed by eleven year-old Lily Born. She wanted to build a better cup to help her grandfather who has Parkinson's disease. Lily's advice to fellow pre-teen entrepreneurs actually applies to all ages: "Don’t freak out if you screw up or fail, because you’ll fail a lot before you get it right," she says, and "Don't be afraid to ask for help."
